Foggy Memorial Day

June 1, 2010

I’ve always wanted to go to the Presidio and photograph the flags on Memorial Day, so finally this year I did.

It’s a really nice place to stroll around with a camera and the heavy fog makes for a great  filter.

Welcome to The Twilight Zone

May 28, 2010

On my latest shoot for Full Bloom I thought I had stumbled onto the set of Dexter.

It turns out it was a less sinister but equally clean and organized scene- the cleaning of the pastry laminating room.

Phew…

Census Time

May 27, 2010

Steve came around to collect my Census form.
I couldn’t resist a man in a suit like this AND a Snoopy tie :)

An Afternoon With The Maestro

May 22, 2010

Occasionally I still get butterflies in my stomach before a shoot. That was the case yesterday as I set off to make a portrait of  the maestro Alasdair Neale.

Upon meeting him I was immediately at ease with his quick Scottish humor and easy going personality. We ended up having a really relaxed and productive shoot.

I’m looking forward to my next visit to the Marin Symphony in the fall.

FullBloom Baking Company

May 12, 2010

FullBloom Baking Co. Woman-owned. Green & sustainable. Delicious products. Fun shoot! In addition to all-natural ingredients in their baked goods & bamboo flooring in their facilities, they offer priority parking to hybrid vehicles. Very cool.

Red, White & Black

I’m always amazed at the transformations that happen with a great make-up artist. Stacy McClure always does a flawless job!

Stairway To Heaven

April 14, 2010

Sometimes a straightforward shoot can become something way more interesting. I turned up expecting to photograph a simple staircase and was thrilled to spend the next 4 hours roaming a hotel penthouse with my camera. Being in photographic heaven I almost forgot to photograph the stairs. Sometimes a straightforward shoot can become something way more interesting. Pirates On The Verizon

April 13, 2010

My favorite thing about being a photographer is all the great people I meet.

This little guy was a pirate that I shot for a Verizon ad in LA for Stockshop .

After swordfighting with him all morning he finally let me take a portrait!

Good Growing

April 8, 2010

After being indoors all winter kids are itching to get outside! What better fun than playing in the dirt and having something to show for it. The latest book from Klutz, Good Growing, is a fun guide to all sorts of gardening projects.

Shooting Through Glass…

April 4, 2010

… is fun. And it can give a soft quality that I can’t make any other way. It also makes cool places a little more accessible.
